Medical services: For adresses of any kind of doctor in Ecuador, check our list.

Health: No vaccinations are required for entry but we recommend to check with your physician before departure. Additionally, because of the high altitudes in parts of Ecuador, travelers with heart conditions or high blood pressure should also consult with their doctors.

Health Risks: Dengue fever, hepatitis, malaria, typhoid, and a minor risk of cholera, rabies and diptheria. Get a yellow-fever vaccination if you plan to visit the jungles of the Oriente.

Health and trips: You will receive medical and immunization information pertinent to your trip. It is imperative that you are in the proper physical condition before embarking on an adventure travel trip. If you do have medical problems or medical requirements, you must advise us so we may pass that information on to your guides. The trip leader may disqualify anyone at any time during the trip if he/she feels that the participant is physically incapable and/or if a participant's continued presence endangers the safety of the participant or the group. Refunds are not given in such cases.


You have certain responsabilities to yourself, PlanetEcuador, the operators, those traveling with you, your guides, and all other trip participants. Include among these responsabilities are the following:

  • Your are responsible for choosing a trip commensurate with your interests and abilities.
  • Appropriate preparation for the trip is of great importance. Preparation must include review and understanding of all the information contained in the trip information and in all other written communication.
  • It is your responsability to bring all appropiate gear and clothing as outlined in the trip information.
  • You should follow normal standards of personal hygiene to diminish risk of disease.
  • Completion of the trip itinerary as scheduled (or as modified in the field if necessary) is expected of all trip participants.
  • Finally, please follow proper wilderness etiquette while in the field and act respectfully towards the people and customs of the country you visit.


By undertaking this trip, you acknowledge that you recognize that there is an element of risk in any adventure, sport or activity in the outdoors. These inherent risks include, among other risks, the risk of injury or illness in remote places without medical facilities; the danger caused by the forces of nature; and the risks of accident in travel by aircraft, automobile, truck, bus, or other conveyance or on foot. By participating in the trip you acknowledge the dangers and rigors imposed by such activities. Knowing this, you assume these risks for yourself, and anuy loss or damage to personal property that may occur on this trip.
